About Gwun

A boutique web agency headed by Nick Reese. Programmatic SEO, then. AI, now.

Gwun is a boutique web agency headed by Nick Reese. Our motto, and our bar, is simple: do cool 💩 and tell people about it. Whatever we build, we want it to be unreasonably good.

The name goes back to 2006, to a bunk bed in a fraternity house — Gwun was the email-marketing freelancing business that started it all, scaled to $100k/year and 400+ realtors. Two decades later, the name covers the whole agency.

What we've done

Historically we focused heavily on programmatic SEO — building sites that turned enormous datasets into useful, searchable directories. We love big datasets and we cannot lie. BroadbandNow mapped every ISP in the country across a billion-plus rows of data. Find Energy did the same for the energy industry. Elder Guide crunched 2+ billion rows of government data for senior care. USA Arms applies the same shape to the firearms world.

Distribution controls destiny. Own a hard dataset, render it so people can actually use it — and let distribution do the rest.

Not everything connected. GoAndorra — a from-scratch Street View for an entire country, 260,000 panoramas — was a technical triumph that didn't fit the life we were building. The misses are part of the model: keep the bets small, learn fast, let the winners run.

What we're doing now

These days we're leaning into AI — using it to improve human relationships and to aggregate massive datasets that used to be impractical to work with.

We especially love local AI. We run six Mac Studios — 2× 512GB M3 Ultras and 4× 128GB M4 Max — driving local AI models 24/7 at full blast. Own the compute, keep the data, build tools that don't depend on someone else's API or quota. It's the same scrappy, own-your-stack instinct that powered the programmatic SEO era, pointed at a new set of problems.

How it's built

This site runs on Boom, an internal web framework and the spiritual successor to Elder.js. Elder.js was open-sourced; Boom stays private. Same philosophy, a faster engine.

Gwun is GWUN LLC, a Florida limited liability company. The portfolio is operated by Nick Reese.
